Divi Aruba Phoenix Beach Resort ★★★★

Perfect stretch of ocean! Decent restaurant & always friendly staff!

Reserving palapas! You need to be out at 5:30-6am to secure a nice spot!

The location of the property is excellent. Centrally located to get to local hot spots on the island yet far enough from airport not to be disturbed but the planes. The staff is fabulous and friendly.

We had an a odor of stuffiness and mildew in all 3 room we had booked. We purchased a can of Lysol to spray to clean the air. We also found had a insect in one room which management moved moved us into an upgraded room the next day without question. Our new room had a much better view which we enjoyed the remainder of our vacation.

The fact that the hotel is right on the beach makes it priceless but be careful when you book ( full kitchen does not mean you have oven and dryer in washer is not a laundry room)

We were very unhappy with how the daily Bingo games were run. The two activities staff members spent part of their time looking at their cell phones and talking with two very familiar guests that they sat in back of them. There are 4 games played. The distribution of prize money could have been better planned. The first 3 games have a prize if )10.00 each. The last game is the remaining money. It is usually around $175.-240.00 depending on the day. If two or money people win the pot for that game is shared. I won one of the games along with another guest. We won $5.00 each. We feel that the division of the money collected for the games could have been better thought out. It is great to win the big “pit” but it doesn’t have to be do that the other games win a minimal amount. We were at another Divi resort the week before we arrived at zphoenix. They also had 4 games each day. However each game had a higher winning pot.If you had, for example, $240. To divide between 4 games. Why can’t the first 3 games have a bigger pot( such as 30-40.) The last game would then still have a larger pot of $120. The way the Bingo games were played was the only part of our trip that was unsatisfactory. The staff needs to be more focused on all guests and the distribution on the winning pots of money should be better planned. As a matter of fact at the other Divi resort they gave prizes for the first two games that weren’t monetary. They gave a free breakfast meal or free hamburger meal as a prize. Even that was better than winning 5.00!

The beach is great the staff was always amazing. The rooms do needs to some TLC as things may be broken or not working properly.

Although they say washer/dryer in the room the washer is actually an all in one unit. It is not an actual dryer....it steam dries the clothes which are often still very damp when you take out. With the humidity it took a really long time. They do have some dryers on the property but you need permission to use. That is what we did. When you travel with a family (at least for me) having a dryer would have been helpful in the room.

The location is very good. The beach area is great. Cleaning staff does a great job

The tower room needs big time updating. Very old furniture and the bathrooms are way too small. Also the bar area is substandard. The resort needs a nicer bar area for evening enjoyment. The pool bar is not sufficient.

The breakfast was fine. I didn't know that I would have to leave my room to get it, but it was okay, it was something different for me and an opportunity to eat breakfast while enjoying the serenity of the ocean and the beach.

To begin with, the room in the link for this hotel wasn't the room that I was initially given. The money wasn't an issue, I thought I paid for one room type and ended up with something different. We eventually worked it out with the kind supervisor who shared with me what the problem was. My advice is to call the hotel in advance to make sure you are getting the room that you saw in the advertisement. My only issue was that the washer/dryer combination turned out to be a fluke. Once the washer was done cleaning, it was supposed to automatically dry your clothes. Well...it was 2:00AM in the morning and none of my clothes were dry, when I called the front desk, I was told to go over to the next building, and take 8 quarters with me to dry my clothes at 2:00AM in the morning. Needless to say, that was not the best option for me at that hour of the morning. Since we were leaving that day, we decided to place the clothes on the balcony since it was so hot anyway, in hopes they would dry by the time we awakened to prepare for check-out. They didn't dry completely, so I had to place the damp clothes in a plastic bag and bring them back home. At least they were clean. Other than that, the staff were really nice and very accommodating.

The beef tenderloin kabobs were fantastic at Pure Beach. The room was clean and spacious.

The property needs more restaurants, the property needs to have available an all-inclusive option and the drinks were priced higher than other places on the island

The location was amazing, all food services were great. The resorts owes me $113.00. They put a $300 hold (charged on my Amex) final room bill was $187...I have not seen the $113.00 credit yet. Please advise. Ana Menendez.

No Complaints at all...except my credit due.

Being on the beach. Cabs came fast. Staff in lobby were all exceptional.

The first day, a Saturday, we chose to go to pool. It was crowded and there were some adults, with children, who had too much to drink shouting to people in children’s pool, flying a drone over the pool, and giving an impression that it was a rowdy place. Thankfully it was not like that other days.

I loved the atmosphere and the location of the resort. Staff were very friendly.

I felt that the breakfast should have been complimentary since the rooms were over $400/night. My keys didn't work when i first got to the resort so i had to make several trips back and forth to the check in desk to get this fixed. We also had a power outage the last day which knocked out the wi-fi, air conditioned and more. I felt we could have been accommodated for this some way but they said we couldn't since most of the island was affected.

People at the hotel were quite friendly and helped to make us feel more comfortable. The view from our hotel was great.

The hotel is farther from other ones from the restaurant and shopping area, although you can take a ten to fifteen minute walk. This hotel is a time share so it does not have all the services that a regular hotel would have. That is why we consider it quite expensive. The food is not that good.

Beach location and actual beach at the property were the best!

Concierge staff was friendly. Room was comfortable.

Front desk double charged me. I paid with cash and the front desk also charged my card. Would not respond to my messages to speak with supervisor. Finally had to call booking.com to get involved to get my money back. Thankfully, I saved my cash payment receipt. The servers at the outside restaurant were rude and very poor service. I sat there for 20 minutes until I had to ask for my own menu. I was ignored the whole time, until it was time to pick up my plate. Server in coffee shop asking for tips.
